On the 25th of May 2019, we celebrate one year of direct application in all EU Member States of the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, adopted by the European Parliament and the Council on 27 April 2016.

On the occasion of the celebration of one year from the application of this European normative act, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing will organise a debate on the 24th of May 2019, with the participation of the representatives of the professional associations.

The event aims to offer the occasion for debates on the application of the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation, of Law no. 129/2018, of Law no. 190/2018 on certain measures for the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation and the Decisions issued by the National Supervisory Authority.

Practical applicability issues will be addressed, in particular, relating to the data protection officer, ensuring the rights of data subjects, data protection impact assessment, codes of conduct and privacy breach notification.
